Born into the

Great Depression and

racial division, Michael
King Jr would, alongside his
father, adopt the name Martin
Luther in honour of the radical
German theologian. Despite
battling depression and a young
scepticism to religion, King
would become one of the most
influential activists for racial
equality: a passion that would
eventually take his life.
