awful lot of trouble to start a war. He got a low level employee to monitor Morgana to see
who she met with, discreetly of course. He’d had Gaston and Herne make “gentle” enquiries
as to whether any other Syndicates had been “inconvenienced” by recent attacks. So far
they had found two other groups had been implicated in thefts or killings. He’d also
managed to find out that Whelks had been “dehumed” by the Vasilly triplets. That also
annoyed him as it meant there was no way he’d be able to uncover who had ordered the
“hit”. The acquirement list in front of him was disturbing too. Some of the materials could
make a very nasty bomb; others looked like they were for some electronic apparatus,
probably an E.M.P, or some kind of communications jammer. When he’d checked, all the
ordered items had never arrived at their final destination. They had “disappeared” enroute
with no trace. It looked as whoever was behind this had also very cleverly misdirected the
Force too. He secretly admired them.

Hagron & Splitt were enroute to Ferisa having passed through the cordon at the
border without trouble. They were on a commercial cruiser in business class enjoying a very
large brandy each. The Force had enquired about any dealings with The Assassins
Foundation and Splitt, quite truthfully, had told them that their receptionist had noticed
that some letter headed sheets had gone missing from her desk. From this the Force had
concluded that someone must have used the papers to implicate them in a murder. Hagron
feigned shock at this and explained about their minor crisis on Ferisa. The Force officer had
just taken their contact details of the Offices on Ferisa and left it at that. Now they were
relaxed they had had time to think about it.

“I wonder if we should let Glass know about this, he doesn’t like anyone “muscling” in on his
turf. It might keep him off our backs and give him someone new to get his teeth into” Splitt
said

“Wait till we’re secure on Ferisa and let the news slip. That distances us
from the situation, literally, and gives us the breathing space we need.
Have you had any thoughts about who the board might choose as a
replacement for Carstairs?” Hagron asked in response. A steward
topped up their drinks and left.

“Cyrus Bellingham possibly; He has an excellent business head on him and he’s young. He
could take the firm into a new direction easily, he’s also very likeable” Splitt replied. They
chinked their glasses and took a hearty swig. They suddenly felt numb in their extremities.
Behind them a Female hand deposited a couple of two hundred credit notes discretely into
the hand of the Steward along with a vial of antidote. She stood and walked along the aisle
toward first class. Those two would be unable to move for the rest of the trip and the
Steward would give them the antidote after she had left. She met up with a middle aged
man in the First class lounge. The two smiled and she kissed him. She didn’t notice the
young girl watching the two of them closely. The girl was a typical “plain Jane” type so was
easily forgettable. The girl went to the facilities and pulled a communicator from her purse.
She typed a message in code and sent it back to her controller on Kelgar. After making sure
that no one would see her leave, the girl went back to the business class compartment and
sat down in a vacant seat.

         In the Force HQ; a situation akin to controlled panic was underway. A Cyber crisis;
the main Hive and its power systems had become unstable and the archaic server system
