TO NATIONALS
C ompiling one of the best season records ever (27-
11), the volleyball team had much for which to be
thankful. Their theme verse was Colossians 3:15,
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the
which also ye are called in one body; and be ye
thankful.”
They won the FCC conference championship and the
NCCAA district title which enabled them to make a
second trip to the National Tournament which was held
at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown,
Wisconsin. Not only was this a winning season, it was a
more challenging season. The Lady Cougars played
against may NAIA colleges and a NCAA Division II
college. Although competition against these scholarship
teams was difficult, the women realized the experience
would improve their game and prepare them for their
big tournaments. The team incorporated new plays
which took them to a higher level of competition. The
new strategies helped make the Lady Cougars a stronger
team; they will come in handy next year when the team
loses its senior players.
