Varsity Tennis 1958

UE to an unusual amount of rain and a
chronic lack of depth, the 1958 Varsity
D Tennis Team’s season was not as successful as
was expected. The squad did, however, compile
a fairly creditable record of four wins and three
losses, placing them in a three way tie with Poly
Prep and Riverdale for second place in the Ivy
League.
The team started off strong defeating Adclphi,
4-1. Rained out for three successive matches, they
defeated Hackley: Doug Floren and Dud Lyons
winning the first two singles matches, and pair­
ing up to win the first doubles match, with Peter The team proceeded to split their four remain­
