Varsity Tennis 1958
UE to an unusual amount of rain and a
chronic lack of depth, the 1958 Varsity
D Tennis Team’s season was not as successful as
was expected. The squad did, however, compile
a fairly creditable record of four wins and three
losses, placing them in a three way tie with Poly
Prep and Riverdale for second place in the Ivy
League.
The team started off strong defeating Adclphi,
4-1. Rained out for three successive matches, they
defeated Hackley: Doug Floren and Dud Lyons
winning the first two singles matches, and pair
ing up to win the first doubles match, with Peter The team proceeded to split their four remain
