_yuesday left Monday
behind with a sigh. If we can make it
through Monday, Tuesday will be a
breeze. Tuesday, the Teutons found, was
called die Martis (“day of Mars”) by the
Romans. This was in honor of their
warrior god Mars. The Teutons had a
similar god, Tiu. They decided that Mars
was really Tiu and called that day
Tietag-hence, Tuesday. Tuesday many
times meant athletic events after school,
choir concerts and homework. Tuesday
seemed to be a day of tests, because by
that time everyone had recovered from
Monday and weren’t totally sick of
school yet for the week. This seemed like
the prime testing time.
“I always hated Tuesday. It seemed
like I had the most homework then,” said
senior Jennifer Burry.
Tuesday, for sophomore
Les Hanel was victory
day. I suppose we can
assume the reserves won
this game.
