t/l/ednesday, finally the middle of

the school week, and only two days to go.

Wednesday was a problem for the

Teutons. The Romans called this day

dies Mercurii (“day of Mercury”) .

     Mercury was the tireless traveling

messenger of the gods who covered a
 ¥
great deal of ground in a short time. The

Teutons had no god exactly like that.

Woden, the god of wisdom, wind, and

     warriors, resembled Mercury closely, so

     the Teutons selected Woden, and

honored him with the day called

     Wodensdag or Wednesday. Students

found Wednesday to be a religious day,

     sometimes filling the evening with

     confirmation classes and church. It

seemed when no one knew what day it

was it was concluded “It must be

     Wednesday”.

lAJednesday was not a Dusti Grady. Some people wednesday/13
prime day for Freshman are a bit camera shy.
