^_Triday, finally! The only problem
I is making it through the entire day. The
I Romans called Friday dies Veneris (“day
of Venus”) for Venus, goddess of love
and beauty. In the Teutor language it is
friedag in honor of Frigg, the only major
•rl*c Teuton goddess. She was the wife of
Woden and the goddess of medicine,
\ healing and matrons. Friday at school
meant exams and a regular school day.
But, there seemed to be a buzz of
happiness and almost relief accompanied
by Friday. Perhaps it was just the talk
i
of that evening’s plans.
Junior Leslie Waffle said, “I like
Friday. It’s the last day of the school
v week and you get excited about going
out.”

stead of going out and relax
ing with friends.
