This was a winning season for the
Lady Cougars. It took them through
district championships and on to na
tionals held at Maranatha Baptist Bi
ble College in Watertown, Wisconsin.
The team was made up of mostly
juniors and sophomores, with a few
key freshman players. Coach Grooms
took the best team she has had in
recent years through an exceptionally
good season. The Cougars lost only
two games in the regular season. Both
losses were to Warner Southern, an
NAIA scholarship team. The second
loss took place after the ladies had
beaten Webber in a previous match
that night. Whether they won or lost,
the players exhibited an excellent tes
timonies toward the opposing teams.
