"Beat the Bulldogs." The chant was being heard again,
and the celebrating had started Sept. 26-30.
"I think it went over better than people thought it
would," said Student Council Secretary Kim Farrell of Spirit
Week. Not only were the Mock Olympics back for the
second year, but class decoration night was too. It had
been canceled in previous years because students ripped
each others decorations down. They were moved from the
gym to the locker sections to prevent any problems. The
judges for the event were the office secretaries, Jan
Lockmon, Cathie Palensky, Rita Perich, Linda Froscheiser
and Bev Rehmeier. "I think we were all looking for creativity,
time span and colorfulness," said Judge Perich. The 'Senior
Zone' was picked as the winner.
On Friday students were dismissed at 1:30 p.m. and
they gathered at the football field for the Mock Olympics.
There were three events, egg toss, people pass and
blindman's football. The juniors and faculty were the overall
winners. Fun and games ended Friday afternoon to make
way for the biggest game of them all-the Homecoming
football contest against the Burke Bulldogs, who were
trampled by Ralston on their Homecoming last year. Ralston
was defeated 25-33.
