J.V. has its ups, downs
J.V. football coach, Mike Fantaski, was pleased by the
over-all effort and support the players exchanged with
each other, "The team worked well together because the
teammates exchanged team support and encouragement
throughout the football season."
The team starts the season out by having practices
during the summer and sometimes practicing twice a day,
once in the morning, then they come back in the afternoon
for another workout. When the school year starts, the team
will sometimes practice with the varsity team to get the
experience they need. The football team has an up-down
list, which is a list of football players that are on the junior
varsity team, but sometimes will be seen in one or two of
the varsity games.
The J.V. football season started Sept. 1, with the team
winning against Millard South, 25-18, and just barely losing
their second game to Omaha Gross, 26-27.
Sophomore Jeff Gillespie makes the final call
before he receives the ball, so he can pass it
to sophomore Ken Korus for a touchdown.
