Temper, temper, temper
“The biggest problem is that the team has to learn to
control its temper because hot tempers can mean lost
matches/' said coach Garry Jurgens.
But why would anybody lose his temper in tennis? Several
reasons, for instance, something as little as breaking a string
on a racket, to a car horn blaring down the street.
With weather permitting, the girls tennis team might get
outside to practice maybe two out of the five days in the
school week. The rain caused some of the matches to be
cancelled, and the girls' first match was the Ralston
Invitational in which they placed third.
"I wish that we would have had more practice time,
even one match before the invitational, but that wasn't the
case. So my doubles partner and I had to go out and do
the best we could," said junior Sue Johnston.
