Been There, Oug That!
JV and Reserve Volleyball Killin' It.
T
X his year’s JV and reserve volleyball teams had many new beginnings and goals this
year. Many of the girls were new to highschool volleyball, and had to learn to perform
with a brand new team. Many of the JV girls also played on varsity, which was a huge
advantage because the of the experience they gained from playing tougher matches.
The girls seemed to become much closer towards the middle and end of the season,
after practicing and playing with each other so much. “My favorite thing about volleyball
is being able to hang out with my team and learn new things about each other,” says
Sophomore, Carmen Dudley, who played on both JV and varsity this year. Both teams
were also on a slow and steady improvement throughout the season. “The main thing I’ve
been working on this year is giving good passes for the setter to work with,” explains
Freshman, Samantha Eary. Freshman, Hailie Mac also talks about her improvements this
year and says, “I have been working on having a better attitude towards myself and
others on the team to be a better player in general.”
After all the hard work the teams put into this season, it’ll hopefully carry on into
future successful seasons. The close bond the girls formed this year provided so many
laughs and memories on and off the court.
