not only fully accredited, but it was
also founded on and structured
around the Truth. This approach
helped the students to gain knowledge of
God's Word and enabled them to take a stand
against secular psychology.
Psychology students became involved in
various practicum programs. At one of the lo
cal hospices, Stacia Byers had the opportunity
to talk with individuals who had lost close
friends or relatives. "It is really important to
give people hope through Christ," she said.

Although counseling is a major branch of t *
psychology, the field is not restricted to coun

seling. "We strive to provide a balanced pro

gram," explained Dr. David Richter, head of
the psychology department. Research and
counseling courses were offered to prepare
students going into any field of psychology
whether locally or on the foreign mission field.
