enior leadership and outstanding

The team finished with a record of

improved greatly during February and
ended the season well,” said coach
Denny Crawford.
Dana Davenport and Casey Johnson
were chosen as co-captains to lead the
team.
Dana Davenport was the leader in
assists with 43 and also leading
rebounder with a total of 120 for the
season.
Casey Johnson was chosen as most

Practices at the beginning of the
season consisted mainly of running to
get conditioned for the games. At the
beginning of a day’s practice, the team
would stretch for 10 minutes, then run
through drills for about 45 minutes.
The last part of practices consisted of
having inter-squad games.
There were also some fun parts to
practice, such as shooting contests: The
winner received a malt of his choice.
There were running contests: if one
finished first he could leave practice
early. Also, there were times when
players could bring their favorite
record album and rock out to the
music as they ran down the court.
“The practices were hard but we
also had fun,” said senior Dana
Danvenport. “I think that’s a main part
of high school sports, working towards
a goal but still having fun doing it.”
