Rush!
he hustle and bustle of getting
T dressed, undressed, and dressed
again, was a daily routine for P.E.
students. The place where the students
took quickie showers, combed their
hair, and took a final glance in the
mirror to make sure they looked o.k.
was commonly known as the locker
room.
The locker room was not used just
for P.E. classes; it was also used for
the suiting up of athletic teams before
a practice or a game.
Forgetting one’s combination, missing
clothes, or lost gym shoes were
common topics of conversation heard
within the walls of this room. No one
really knew if it was gremlins who
needed clothes, or demons who liked
to put them in the lost and found, but
students knew that they put them in
their 2 x 3 lockers the day before.
For some people all this mystery
was very confusing, but each day the
students seemed to have survived this
daily episode within the locker room.
Change of pace. Freshman Wendy Van Fosson prepares for an
afternoon track practice.
