Abstract
Study on the development of competitiveness in tourism in Thailand, a case study of
the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), conducted study on tourism according to the Master
Strategic Plan under the National Strategy, Issues of tourism and the Eastern Economic Corridor
have resulted as follows: Assessment of the implementation of the indicator goals for the year
2018-2022. The overall area of Thailand, Tourism Issues: 17 Indicators, failed by 9 Indicators,
Passed by 5 Indicators, No assessment result by 3 Indicators. EEC Areas: Passed by 1 Indicator,
Failed by 1 indicator and 27 Issues in Obstacle Conditions of Thailand's tourism
competitiveness, and 20 issues in the Eastern Economic Corridor.
Recommendations for Thailand’s Tourism sector consist of 11 activities practical
recommendations and 2 activities policy recommendations for the Eastern Economic Corridor,
recommendations for EEC and related agencies consist of 12 activities practical
recommendations and 6 activities policy recommendations for example marketing strategy
activity for Thailand to step up being the destination of medical tourism in the region.
