REWARD OR PUNISHMENT : WHICH IS MORE
EFFECTIVE ?
Punishment teaches a person various lessons in life; it teaches the person
to learn from the mistake and not to repeat it again. But sometimes, it
gives the opposite result than expected. Sometimes the person turns
aggressive after punishment and rather than learning from the mistake,
learns to take revenge. The punishment also sometimes gets brutal which
the person may not deserve and it leaves the person emotionally and
mentally disturbed. Punishment also decreases the achievement level of a
person because the person is in the constant fear of being punished and is
not able to do work with more focus and determination. But at the same
time, I totally do not disagree with the concept of punishment, but I feel
reward and punishment should be balanced.
“A reward is like the crown of a king, but a punishment is like the
responsibility of the king.”
