TREATING EACH DAY AS A GIFT

Every day is a new day and every new day is a gift to us from God. Whenever we get a gift,

we are joyful and excited and eager to know what is in the box. The same way we get up in

the morning and receive our gift of new day with a big smile. Now in this box, the gift given

to us may not be of our choice or we may like it, but still we accept it with open arms.

Similarly, sometimes we may face too many challenges, sometimes few but overcoming

them is our responsibility.

Life is like a video game, where we are given tasks to complete, so as to move to the next

level. If we don’t, we have to repeat the same level again. The second time we play, after

being unsuccessful, we think about how we played before, where we went wrong and then

we play accordingly avoiding our earlier mistakes. Sometimes we also get bonus points for

playing well. This happens only when we strive hard to get them. These bonus points are

like opportunities in our life. So, we should treat every day as a gift. When we open this gift,

opportunities, challenges, happiness, sorrows come out of it which we should accept

graciously and make most out of it. Even if we fail, then it is not the end but beginning.

An example of this is what happened with me on Sunday. I went to my dance class. We had

to do a new routine but I wasn’t getting the step correct. My dance teacher asked me to stay

back to practice and learn it more. At first, I thought of my fatigue and decided to say 'no',

but then I thought as if I was running away from a challenge, so I stayed back. In that one

hour, I not only learnt the whole step but also got some important details from my teacher

which increased my knowledge on jazz dance.
