The last noun is often dropped if it is not a person and is

understood in the context, as below:

これは日本語の辞書です。あれは中国語のです。

Kore wa Nihongo no jisho desu. Are wa Chūgokugo no
desu.

Now, in English when a verb or verb phrase modifies a
noun, it FOLLOWS the noun and is introduced by a word like
