WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH

Whenever there are talks on gender and diversity, we often
revolve around the most important question: "Will we ever
reach gender equality in the workplace?" or is it just a morally
right theory but can never be realized. In this women in
leadership interview, we connect with some of the most
successful female leaders here at Spok to uncover each leader's
experience, how they pushed boundaries, and find the balance
to rise to the top of their role.
As part of our Women in Leadership interview, we wanted to highlight the professional challenges and career
aspirations of the women who work at Spok. We hope you find this interview extremely valuable in your pursuit
to advance your career. You will gain insights on how female leadership can help companies build better
propositions and be proactive in championing workplace initiatives that can make a huge difference.
It was an honor speaking with Kristen Lalowski, Chief Product Officer; Donna Scott, SVP Marketing; and Mathilde

    NOWRUZ MUBARAK (PERSIAN NEW YEAR)

More than 300 million people celebrated Nowruz on Saturday,
March 20, 2021, and you should, too! Nowruz, meaning ‘new
day,’ also known as Persian New Year, is a holiday marking the
arrival of spring and the first day in Iran, where the solar
calendar begins with the vernal equinox. Nowruz has Iranian and
Zoroastrian origins; however, it has been celebrated by diverse
communities for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia,
the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, the Balkans, and South Asia.

On March 15, 2010, the House of Representatives of the U.S. passed the Nowruz Resolution “recognizing the
cultural and historical significance of Nowruz.“ Other places where Nowruz is celebrated around the world are:
Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan (five days), Georgia, Iran (thirteen days), Iraqi Kurdistan, Kazakhstan (four
days), Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Bayan-Ölgii, Mongolia, Tajikistan (four days), Turkmenistan (two days), Uzbekistan
    Before New Year

To get ready for Nowruz's arrival, people start with a major spring cleaning of their homes and buy new clothes
to wear for the New Year.
