Verbal and Non-Verbal Business Communication + Peer Evaluation
You will be working in a small group, organized by your teacher. Your task will be to create a short skit
that exemplifies the SAME verbal business communication using informal verbal communication and
negative body language, then revise the scene, and play it using formal verbal communication and
positive body language. Feel free to add any necessary props to aid the presentation of your skit. You
will be presenting it to the class!
Your skit should:
Include all group members
Face the audience, and language should be clear and audible
Use appropriate situation and language for the classroom
Be no less than 2 minutes and no more than 5 minutes in length
Demonstrate a verbal business communication using informal language and negative body
language
Demonstrate the same verbal business communication using formal language and positive body
language
Explain to the class, after the skit, specific things that your group changed between skit #1 and
skit #2 to ensure the verbal business communication what effective in the second version of the
skit
Use the peer evaluation rubric on the next page to evaluate the skits of other student groups. The group
who receives the best peer evaluation may win a prize!
