interfacial  bond.  Consequently,  the  cracking  at  the  initial  stages  has  damaged  the

                   matrix and the E-glass layers, before being transferred to the jute fibre. The presence
                   of E-glass on the next layer adjacent to the jute layer would slow down and blunt the

                   damage propagation, as shown in Figure 4.12. This observation is in line with the
                   observation in the previous study on jute/epoxy, jute/vinyl ester and jute/polyester,

                   where the failure mode starts with the tearing of the fibre,  followed by matrix cracking
                   [46].  In  addition,  the  jute  laminate  fractures  easily  occur  in  the  bending  mode,

                   compared to E-glass laminate,  which typically debonds layer by layer in the mid span

                   of the specimen [160].
