ESA Foundation Co-Sponsorship Program
Since 2014, ESA Foundation has co-sponsored projects with ESA and non-ESA
members to create a Win-Win environment for everyone involved.
Currently the co-sponsored project is the “Packs for Hunger.” This is a project in
New Mexico that is administered through the ESA Foundation, allowing the project
to reap the benefits of the 501 C 3 status. Since donations to our individual chapter
are not tax deductible, they were having difficulties securing larger donations
without the tax-deductible benefits.
Working with the ESA Foundation, Carol Worley and other chapter members were
able to determine the criteria necessary to get all of the donations for the project,
including large corporate donations, made directly to the ESA Foundation.
Debit Cards and store accounts were set up to be able to purchase the items
necessary for the project in the area. An accounting of the funds is communicated
monthly.
Total amount deposited from this one project
for three years has been over $175,000.
In order to cover the accounting and
administration of the 501c3 oversight, a
modest administrative charge is assessed to
the program. This allows the program to
have the benefit of the tax-deductible status
under the ESA Foundation.
If you have a continuous project that you
think would benefit from the co-sponsorship
program (within ESA or outside of ESA),
please talk with one of the ESA Foundation
Directors, Kristin Hall or Doug Mills
