Happy Spring to all.
I know many of you are more than ready for Spring. I know I am and we really have not had a bad
winter compared to many of our members in the East.
I got to meet with many of the new incoming presidents for the states at the IC Leadership training
in Denver the first of March. It was a jam packed 2 plus days. I can see we are going to have many
projects in the coming year. All were very interested in doing for our veterans. You go girls. DO
amazing things!! Remember all things we do will make a difference to our vets!
We had to privilege of hearing from 2 veterans of our own. Leila Morrison and Phyllis Minch from
Colorado. Leila is a very amazing WW II nurse who saw the devastation of the war first hand. I could
have listened to her for hours. One very courageous woman. And Phyllis also a veteran has travel
as a chaperone on the honor flights and this year she gets to go as one of our honored veteran.
Both ladies are amazing! We salute them for all that they have done in serving our country.
I heard from an Indiana
chapter (Omega Chi} who
had a project; “Supper
Coupon Clipping” party. They
had a light supper and started
cutting. They were amazed,
time flies when spending time
with ESA members, doing
good for others and they cut
over $6,700.00 in coupons. It
Libby Hammond, Karen Dempsey, Lois Hutton, only cost the time to drive to a
Pat Dodson, Roberta Anderson and Joyce Fears. location, pitch in on dinner
and look what they did for
military overseas. Thanks ladies, U DID GOOD! (picture of them with bags of coupons)
Thanks to the members and their guest at San Riv Or RC.
Yvonne Rector let me know about their card making.
Those “beautiful” valentine cards that they made were
delivered to the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, CA. Good
job and those cards look great! (see picture of cards)
Please say a prayer for those families who are suffering
from that horrible shooting at the Veteran’s Home in Yountville, CA. Please continue to pray for our
soldiers who are fighting the horrible effects that they suffer after returning from their deployments
overseas.
