Have you ever attended an ESA Leadership? I was in Denver March 1 thru the 4 for Leadership
                                                                                        st
                                                                                                     th
as the St. Jude Sr. chair. While there, our beloved organization, tries to help incoming state
presidents and other ESA members grow as leaders. There are a wide variety of topics,
        discussions, a ton of
        information shared and
        friendships formed. If you
        have not experienced
        Leadership, I strongly urge
you to put it on your
        bucket list.

        At Leadership, I talked to
        the incoming state
        presidents about Laps for
Life. This new program is a
        new way to involve young
        people in fundraising for
St. Jude. You ask a group Kathleen Grissom, Kim Kummmer,
                                                             Maria Bingheim, and Celeste Webb
of kids to get sponsors and
walk or run around a track
or gym. The student council at Jefferson Elementary School in Charleston, Illinois raised over
$1500 last November. They plan to do it again next November and double their donation. All
incoming state presidents have the information and paperwork.

We also heard from Isaac, an intern working for St. Jude at the Denver office from St. Louis Mo.
As a child, Isaac was a St. Jude patient. He had leukemia and his family went to St. Jude for
treatment. He pointed out that the survival rate for his type of cancer is now up to 96%. Isn’t that
Amazing! We are so close to 100%, if we donate a little more money maybe they can find the
        cure, 100% of kids cured!
