               • Note 1 ‑ Available in a variety of lengths from Mercury Marine.
               • Note 2 ‑ Important: When using the internal power assist steering system for these applications, Mercury recommends
that an internal tie bar be used to distribute the total steering load to both steering levers to minimize the potential of
excessive loads on the steering components. Excessive steering loads may cause accelerated wear on the steering
components. When the boat is equipped with both internal and external tie bars, Mercury recommends that the trim
difference between the drives be limited to no more than 10°.
               • Note 3 ‑ Tie bars in this application are typically attached at the trim cylinder aft mounting boss.
               • Note 4 ‑ Typically the hydraulic steering cylinders are attached to the aft cover on the driveshaft housing. These cylinders
can be mounted outboard of the drives or between them. This configuration typically includes an external tie bar attached
to the same location as the hydraulic steering cylinder.
               • Note 5 ‑ Typically the hydraulic steering cylinders and external tie bar are attached to the trim cylinder aft mounting boss.
