Instrumentation and Controls

A fused accessory panel with up to a 40 amp current draw can be connected to the Quicksilver instrumentation harnesses (see
wiring diagrams at‑end‑of‑section). On dual station applications, the combined current draw for both stations must not exceed
40 amps. The boat manufacturer is responsible for ensuring that the accessory connections are made in accordance with
industry standards and regulations. Refer to information under Industry Standards and Regulations.
            Dual Station Instrumentation/Senders
Instrumentation and harnesses are available through Mercury Precision Parts to accommodate dual station (helm) applications.
When gauges are used at both stations, dual station senders must be installed to obtain the proper gauge readings. Refer to
Mercury Precision Parts and Accessories Guide for part numbers.
               • Dual station engine water temperature sender
               • Dual station engine oil pressure sender
               • Dual station trim position sender
Install accessories in accordance with the instructions that accompany them. Be sure to seal all exposed electrical connections
with Quicksilver Liquid Neoprene to prevent corrosion.

            Power Package Protection System
            AUDIO WARNING SYSTEM
All models are equipped with an audio warning system as standard equipment to alert the operator of insufficient engine oil
pressure, excessive engine temperature, or a low drive unit lubricant condition. The following items are particularly noteworthy
for proper installation of the system:
                                                          ! WARNING

Installing non‑potted electrical components in explosive environments can result in serious injury or death from fire or
explosion. Install all non‑potted electrical components such as warning alarms away from environments where fuel or fuel
vapor is present such as engine or fuel tank compartments.

               • Select a mounting location where the horn is out of the elements, yet can be readily heard.
               • The horn should be within 46 cm (18 in.) of the instrumentation to allow connection to the switched side of the ignition
switch (see wiring diagram at end of section).
               • Coat electrical connections with Liquid Neoprene to avoid corrosion.

Tube Ref No. Description Where Used Part No.

                        25 Liquid Neoprene Electrical connections 92- 25711 3
               • The small transparent decals (2) provided should be installed on the engine water temperature gauge and oil pressure
                  gauge.
