              Turkey lies at a geostrategic position which constitutes
              the bridge between East and West. Established in
              1923 as a secular and modernizing republic with an

              almost entirely Muslim population, its ethnic, historical,
              cultural, religious, and linguistic links with the people
              of Central Asia, Caucasus and Balkans give it a special

              geopolitical significance
