After 7 tireless days and 7 restless nights, Cassian finally arrived at the crypt. The
crypt was just discovered and many thought that this crypt was filled with weak
monsters and that clearing it would be a walk in the park but Cassian felt uneasy.
The air was humid and there was a putrid smell of rot and decay, eventually Cassian
mustered enough courage to enter the crypt not knowing what was about to come.
Cassian slowly entered the crypt, trying his best to stay silent, he tiptoed his way
around the crypt, trying to find the lieutenant. Cassian was surprised that no
monsters had attacked him and Cassian started to loosen up and he eventually
slipped and made a loud thud. Cassian immediately stood up taking out his sword,
prepared for the worst but all seemed quiet when all the sudden, a monster dived
down and attacked Cassian from the ceiling. Cassian swiftly dodged its attack and
took a good look at the monster. It was terrifying. It had huge claws and had
hardened scales that seemed unharmed when it crashed down the ceramic floor, it
was unusually large even for a monster and had gigantic fangs that were the size of
Cassian’s hand.
Cassian froze and was in awe of its sheer size and strength. Not knowing what to do,
he scrambled and ran as fast as he could. He took out his bow and shot an arrow at
full strength but the arrow just got deflected away by the monster’s rock-hard scales.
He ran towards the other side of the crypt, away from the entrance but his leg got
pulled from the side and Cassian fell into a pit.
The air was dense and it was dead silent, Cassian was in confusion. He looked
around and realised that he passed out and had just woken up, he looked around
and the lieutenant was behind him with his squad. Cassian was dumbfounded.
The Lieutenant briefed Cassian on what had happened and realised that this
monster was too much even for the Lieutenant and they had been trapped in the
crypts for a long time and had lost multiple men during their long battle with this
beast.
All hope seems lost, they have lost some of their finest knights and they have not
even harmed the monster. They were all quiet and some knights started crying,
thinking this would be the end for them. Cassian was not one of them.
