While they were all mourning, Cassian had devised a brilliant plan. He was sure of it
to work as the Lieutenant has the best of the best soldiers and archers.
The knights had thought that they could not even harm this creature because even
the best archers could not put a dent onto the monster's scales, however, Cassian
told the archers to aim at the monster’s eyes. The rest of the plan involved them
making noise at the other side of the crypt to distract the monster giving them time
to escape.
Some were doubtful but the Lieutenant had full trust in his comrades and reassured
the others. They geared up one last time, prepared to give this monstrosity fire and
brimstone and finally escape this hellhole.
‘Swiishhh’ After a few shots they finally landed an arrow on the monster’s eye. The
beast roared in pain and it smashed the ground with all its power and might.
Shattered ceramic tiles and glass shards were thrown across the crypt. The plan was
completely in shambles.
“Take cover!”
Everyone ran towards the pillars for cover and those who could not make it shielded
the Lieutenant away from the debris. Most of them survived the bombardment and
looked around in terror as their exit had been blocked by the fallen rubble.
They all ran towards the exit, removing all the rubble covering the entrance. They
were slowly but surely making it out of there but the beast picked up their smell and
were charging towards their direction.
There was nowhere to run.
Everyone was digging away the rubble from the entrance but the monster was
closing in and it seemed like the end of them.
