I stood up, this time my knees fought against the pressure. I was feeling excited
yet nervous. It was such an honor to get a lesson from a legend, it was something
I was willing to risk my life for.
“ I’m ready. Let’s start right now!” I eagerly exclaimed. The lessons began from
that day on.
Not caring how much time outside of the cave had passed, I pushed my limit
trying to comprehend the lessons. After every time I slept, there would always be
food available. Without question, I slept, ate, and learned. The dragon taught me
lots of things: Lighting Strike, Ice Bazooka, Telekinesis, and many more.
A day of strenuous lessons had passed. And suddenly, an incident happened.
“Cough! Cough!”, blood splattered out of the dragon’s mouth. My eyes widened in
surprise.
“ This is as far as I can teach, I don’t have time anymore.” The great dragon said
with a hazy sight. It brought out an oval-shaped stone and handed it over to me.
‘Take care of my offspring, Raon.’ It telepathically said in my mind.
“ Wait, what-”, for a short second I spoke, then was cut off.
“ Cynthia. That’s my name. Goodbye Raon, and take care.” It tapped its paw onto
my chest, and I fell unconscious.
When I woke up, I was laying on the grass outside of the rectangular-shaped
entrance which was fading. I immediately ran towards it, banging, punching,
kicking the huge boulder that no longer has a hole in it. The ditch disappeared.
“Damn it, Cynthia. I didn’t even get to thank you…”, my voice trembled. Tears
dripped down my face as I was holding onto the one object that she gave me, her
egg.
