To Be Beautiful

‘Large and plum’ those were the two words that Holly saw every time she saw herself in
her mirror. “Everyone else is beautiful, why can I be like that?”

She thought to herself ,”why can’t I be like them.” All the girls in my school just laugh and
comment on my terrible looks, my heart shatters. Almost everyday my teachers would find
me weeping in the restroom stall saying I need to be beautiful.
As Holly was going back to school, she decided to take the long way through the scrapyards
to clear her mind of all the negative comments. As she was passing cars and machinery
being crushed, She heard a sudden rattling sound coming from one of the cars that was
about to be crushed. Quickly she ran to the hood of the car and opened the lid up and saw a
body. It has a slim almost hourglass like body, wearing a ballerina skirt, its neck was
elongated almost looked like someone failed trying to pull its head off its body, its face if you
could call it a face. It‘s features were scarcely formed, crude and shapeless. The body
suddenly raised its hands slowly reaching out to me with its green eyes glowing. It said with
its sickly almost feminine voice,“ help me”. She then grabbed the robot by the arms and
quickly pulled it out of the trunk.

The robot started to stand up, it towered over Holly, with its neck like a giraffe it bent down
and looked at her. It looked up and down almost like she was scanning Holly.

Holly was nervous, her legs felt shaking and she felt like she was about to throw up by
looking at the robot’s scary face. The robot suddenly turned around and grabbed a nearby
bunny mask with a soft almost bloody interior. The robot covered its face with the mask.

“Thank you for rescuing me.” the robot said “My name is Vanessa, I will grant you one
wish”. Holly thought and thought. Then Holly told Vanessa,”Make me the most beautiful
person in the world.” Vanessa replied,``Ok, come back tonight and I will grant you your
wish.” Holly then quickly runs home.

At Midnight she went back to the scrapyard and saw Vanessa. Vanessa then waving her
robotic arm puts Holly into sleep. In her dream Holly hears sounds of chainsaws,drills, she
looks at the floor. One bag contained a human leg with a human arm sticking out. Blood
was splattered at the bottom of the bag, but the limbs had been cut neatly, like in a surgical
amputation. Then another bag with bloody snakelike tubes and what appeared to be a liver,
fell to the floor with a wet splat. She shook it off and thought it was a nightmare.

Holly then woke up and found out that she was in her bedroom, she quickly ran into the
mirror and looked at herself and what she saw shocked her. Just like that Vanessa
granted her wish. She looked like one of those models in the magazines. Flawless skin
