A Stranger’s Love Story

I am what one would call a hopeless romantic. I think up how strangers' love stories
came to be as I refuse to believe in the harsh reality of the real world and how not

many people find their true love. Some would say I have a wild imagination, some
would say that I am delusional. However, I say that I tend to think what we see in

books or movies is something that can happen in real life, not just in fictional tales.

One day, I was at the grocery store when I saw a man crash into a woman. All I could

tell from the distance was that the woman was a brunette and that the man had black
hair. Amid their conversation, I thought to myself that that would be a classic meet-
cute out of a romantic comedy. I stood there and did what I usually did, I thought up a

       love story for them.

John was a 28-year-old male general surgeon. He met his girlfriend, 26, who I named

Jane at the hospital. John was a sunshiny person while Jane was the polar opposite,
she was a grump. It was your typical grumpy meets sunshine situation. She came in

one day with a bruised kidney and John had done a consult on her. The second he
laid his eyes on her, he immediately thought she was beautiful. He looked at her
brown eyes which had gold flakes in them if you looked deep into them. Thankfully,

she didn’t need surgery. For some reason, he couldn’t get her out of his head. Every
spare moment he had he thought about her. About her eyes.

It was one week later when he was grocery shopping and he was thinking about her
yet again. He was in the yogurt aisle and he wasn’t paying attention to his
surroundings. The next thing he knew, there was a loud crash and someone was

yelling “Hey! Watch where you’re going!” said a familiar voice. His eyes lit up when he
saw those beautiful brown eyes once again. She was about to walk off when he said,

“Hey, wait! I know you. You were a patient that I consulted on about a week ago.
Bruised kidney, right?” She wore an amused look on her face as she said, “Yeah, you
remember me?” He scoffed, “Of course, I do. How could I forget someone as
       gorgeous as you?”

That day at the grocery store, he asked her out on a coffee date. That went well, so

they went on another date. And another. And another. Soon, it was their anniversary.
They lived their lives together, always remembering that fateful night at the grocery
       store.
