4. SERVICE POINTS OF 4D56 ENGINE COMPONENT
14. Install the engine air intake pipe.
15. Use the MUT-III to erase the diagnosis codes.
This will erase the diagnosis code resulting from
Note the crank angle sensor connector being discon-
nected.
Fig. 4-3
(2) Timing Belt "B" Installation
1. Align timing marks on the crankshaft sprocket "B",
and silent shaft sprockets with their timing marks.
2. Install timing belt "B" onto sprockets and ensure that
its tension side is not slack.
Fig. 4-4
3. Loosen tensioner "B" mounting flange bolt, one to two
turns.
4. Tighten the tensioner "B" attaching hexagon socket
head bolt.
5. Tighten the tensioner "B" attaching flange bolt.
If the bolt is tightened first, the tensioner "B"
Note should be turned together, resulting in reduced
timing belt "B" tension.

6. Ensure that the deflection is as specified when the
belt is pushed by the index finger at the position indicat-
ed by an arrow.
Belt deflection: 4 - 5 mm
<For Your Reference>
The Timing belt B is used to drive the silent shafts that
is adopted on the 4D56 engine, this mechanism can ef-
fectively reduce the engine secondary vibration for the 4
cylinders diesel engine with 2000 ml total displacement
