                   1.  Jisim sebungkus serbuk koko ialah j kg. Puan Jamailah membeli 8
                      bungkus serbuk koko dengan jumlah jisimnya 6 kg.                         8j = 6
                      The mass of a pack of cocoa powder is j kg. Puan Jamailah bought 8 packs
                      of cocoa powder with a total mass of 6 kg.
                   2.  Yonna mempunyai m utas tali yang panjangnya 2 m seutas dan 5
                     utas tali yang panjangnya 3 m seutas. Jumlah panjang semua tali     2m + 5 × 3 = 20
                     itu ialah 20 m.                                               2m + 15 = 20
                     Yonna has m ropes of length 2 m each and 5 ropes of length 3 m each.
                     The total length of all the ropes is 20 m.
                   3.  Bapa  Jackie  berumur  40  tahun.  Beza  umur  antara  Jackie  dengan   Katakan umur Jackie ialah a tahun.
                     bapanya ialah 16 tahun.                                     Let Jackie’s age is a years old.
                     Jackie’s father is 40 years old. The difference between the ages of Jackie   40 – a = 16
                     and her father is 16 years.

                      Solve each of the following linear equations.
                    Contoh                                  1.  b + 5 = 9                  2.  y + 4 = –1

                 x + 3 = 10           Tolak 3 pada kedua-dua
                                     belah persamaan.          b + 5 – 5 = 9 – 5             y + 4 – 4 = –1 – 4
                  x + 3 – 3 = 10 – 3  Subtract 3 from both sides      b = 4                         y = –5
                        x = 7        of the equation.
