SECTION A: COMPANY RULES
1. GENERAL COMPANY RULES
The purpose of these rules is to ensure
that you know the standards expected of
you as an employee of the company. You
may be subject to disciplinary action, up
to and including dismissal, if you fail to
observe any of these rules.
OTHER EMPLOYMENT
In light of the company’s responsibility to ensure that it complies with the Working
Time Regulations in respect of weekly working hours, you are required to advise your
line manager if you have, or intend to take, an additional job.
SMOKING
It is an offence to smoke in company or customers premises (including electronic
cigarettes). Anyone found breaching this rule will be liable to summary dismissal. If
you smoke (including electronic cigarettes) you should do so in your allocated breaks,
it is not permissible to take smoke breaks during the working day. Smoking (including
electronic cigarettes) is not permitted in company vehicles.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
You should take all reasonable steps to safeguard
your own health and safety and that of any other
person who may be affected by your actions at
work. You must not take any action which could
threaten the health or safety of yourself other
employees, customers or members of the public.
You must co-operate with the company to ensure
a healthy and safe working environment.
Due to the nature of the business certain
employees may be exposed to biological hazards,
such as blood etc. Although the risk of infection from customers is small, you should
make yourself familiar with the company’s infection control policy before dealing with
the customers.
The company would encourage employees who come into direct contact with
customers to have the following vaccinations, although these are not compulsory:
Tetanus , Rubella , Polio, Hepatitis B
