                                 Concept and Rationale

                                 Politics and Government Programme offers a holistic and practical approach to the study of
                                 political science. As political science is very broad in nature, this programme offers courses which
                                 expose the students to a variety of sub-fields in political science. These sub-fields include political
                                 economy, public policies, Malaysian politics, comparative politics and governance.

                                 Program Educational Objectives

                                  i.   Knowledgeable, competent and ethical in the field of politics and government.
                                  ii.   Competent in the technical and interpersonal skills and able to critically analyze issues
                                       related to politics and government
                                 iii.   Able to apply functional skills in speaking, listening, communicating, reading and writing
                                       with the usage of ICT in the field of politics and government.
                                 iv.   Able to demonstrate entrepreneurial skills, leadership characteristics through
                                       communicating and working with peers and stakeholders locally and internationally.

                                 Program Learning Outcomes

                                 These courses are designed to meet these nine learning outcomes:

                                  i.   Explain theories and concepts in political science and administrative studies.
                                  ii.   Analyze current political questions and issues critically.
                                 iii.   Apply research and management proficiencies related to Political  Science and
                                       Administrative Studies.
                                 iv.   Express empathy pertaining to the community and their needs.
                                  v.   Present ideas coherently and convincingly in a team based environment.
                                 vi.   Transform services delivery based on digital and media competence.
                                 vii.   Equip students with a mathematical dimension of political analysis
                                viii.   Exhibit competent leadership in a dynamic organizational environment.
                                 ix.   Exhibit adaptability and commitment to ever changing learning environment.
                                  x.   Display entrepreneurial credentials in improving service delivery and problem solving.
                                 xi.   Practice good governance.
