Newsletter, Minutes and Annual General Meeting

Minutes from June Meeting

1. Minutes from Association meeting 12 of June 2019, held at the Cob’s Club Birmingham.
There were no minutes taken at the June meeting of the Association.
2. In attendance at the July meeting of the Association were as followed:
The Lord Gough, K Tracey, F Hayes, G Hayes, R Collister MBE, J Collister, M Maguire,
M Maguire, D Liggins, J Liggins, A Cork, T Cook, L Cook, B Laws, A Laws, P Lynch, A Nash,
F Nash, B McKay, D McKay, and S Gardner.
3. Apologies from the following: J Rourke, A Latham, D Latham, T Lynch, D Hemphill, K Hemphill,
P Murphy, E Aaron, C Draper and T Draper.
Points from the Vice Chairman/Secretary:
1. The secretary is in the process of trying to get reimbursed £70 from the Post Office for two
broken crystal presentations that were broken by the courier. He is hoping to offer this to the
crystal manufacturers to get two more crystal presentations to replace the broken ones.
2. Ray Kidd has Informed Association that has given up his place in the queue for the Chelsea
pensioners hospital and has decided to stay in his home. This we believe is because the hospital
has not been in touch to explain what is going on. Liam Charles is due to join the in-patients
shortly.
3. The forthcoming Battlefield Tour was discussed to see if anyone was interested in attending.

The tour takes place between the 15 and 19 of September led by Gen Sir Sebastian Roberts
and there are still some places left you wish to attend please phone 01886 812862. This tour has
been greatly subsidised by Regimental Headquarters.
Welfare:
1. Dennis Cridge, has been released from hospital and is paralysed from the waist down he has
been told that this is permanent but like a good old Mick he is being very positive about the future.
Bobby Laws has been to visit him and says he is in very good spirits and has even got a disabled
converted vehicle already and is raring to go.
2. Ray Collister, will produce some information in the newsletter reference SSAFA - The Armed
Forces Charity, ABF/The Soldiers’ Charity and the British Legion.
Membership:
1. Kevin Tracey has managed to recruit two new members to the Association.
Can all post including Cheques be sent to the Branch Treasurer from now on to help with the
new procedures been brought in to slim-line the process of getting up to date information on the
branch for the committees:
