KNX TUTOR SEMINAR
The objectives of the following working groups of the Technical Board are:
WG System: responsible for the extension of the KNX specifications with new system
features. This group has a number of task groups dealing with dedicated subjects like
Radio Frequency, IP communication ...
WG Interworking : together with its subgroups (“application specification groups”,
e.g. TF Metering) responsible for the definition of the KNX interworking model, new
KNX standardised data types, new KNX functional blocks, new easy channel
definitions, ....
WG Certification (short ‘KonCert’): responsible for the Certification Manual and KNX
Test specifications (respectively Volume 5 and Volume 8 of the KNX Specifications)
WG International Standardisation: responsible for the strategy of KNX Association
in international standardisation, in amongst others
CENELEC and ISO TC205 for HBES (Home and Building Electronic Systems)
CEN TC247 for Building Automation Control Systems (BACS)
ISO/IEC JTC1 (Joint Technical Committee) SC (Sub-Committee 25 WG1 HES
(“Interconnection of Information Technology Equipment – Home Electronic
Systems”).
As regards Tools, the
Steering Group defines the long term strategy for all new software updates and
determines a time schedule for this.
The Core Team is responsible for the technical specification of further updates of the
various KNX software tools
The objectives of following subgroups of the Marketing Board are amongst others:
Working Group New Markets: planning promotional activities for KNX system
components like bus couplers, bus interface modules, chip sets, development kits,
tools, …available for the development of KNX compatible devices;
Working Group Professional Market Partners: planning promotional activities
around KNX products, with the focus on electro-technical and HVAC applications;
