JAPAN USES TRADITIONAL ELITE
TO OPPOSE BRITISH
Japanese began to revive the waning position of the
traditional elite but continued to encourage the radical
group to adopt an uncompromising attitude towards the
British.
Establish Kesatuan Rakyat Istimewa (KRIS) which was an
attempt to create a resistance group ready to oppose the
return of the British
However, the radical Malays who allied themselves with the
Japanese were placed in a position where they were seen as
persons disloyal to British after the war ended.
