controllers, this controller remains highly effective under a wide range of processing
conditions which will excite the nonlinear modes of the process. Simulation examples are

provided to highlight the effectiveness of the control system.

Cylinder temperature controller for an injection molding machine in which an injection
molding operation is performed, while keeping the injection cylinder at a stable preset. The
temperature regardless of disturbances such as the change of mold temperature or ambient

temperature and the temperature rise caused by the shear compression of resin.

To prevent under filling or overfilling (and flashing) of either material, the shot-to-shot
accuracy of the machine is obviously a critical factor. Shot variability of less than 0.3% to

0.5% is recommended. A machine with closed-loop injection-speed control is the best choice

Flash results in wasted material, time, money and poor product quality. This report

describes the ideal variables needed to minimize flash in the injection molding of Nylon
                 plastics.

This project was designed to determine how injection pressure, holding pressure and

holding pressure time affect the flash of Nylon tensile specimens, The response variable was
the distance in inches the flash extended from the runner.

The three factors and their levels were as follows:

                    1) Injection pressure

                    2) Holding Pressure

                    3) Holding Pressure time (1 second or 4 seconds)

We found all three factors had a significant effect on the level of flash on the Nylon
tensile specimens, The combination of variables that produced the least amount of flash
were injection pressure low holding pressure and either low or high holding pressure time (1

                 or 4 seconds).

From this experiment, we defined that, injection pressure, holding pressure and
holding pressure time were all significant factors, We also concluded that when using the low

values of injection and holding pressure, the holding pressure time did not affect the amount
of flash produced, It is important to recognize this when injection molding Nylon plastics
because it could offer a savings in time, The reduction in time translates into higher

productivity and less material waste, This in turn would increase a company's profits.
