PATTERN PRACTICE 2

Cue: Ni-jū nana-sai desu ka.

Are you 27 years old?
Response: E’e, ni-jū-nana-sai ni narimashita.

Yes, I have become (just turned) 27.
Cue: Takai desu ka.

Is it expensive?
Response: E’e, takaku narimashita.

Yes, it has become expensive.

Repeat the drill with the following:
1. Go-sen-en desu ka.
2. Muzukashi’i desu ka.
3. Samui desu ka.

4. Yuki desu ka.
5. Omoshiroku nai desu ka.

EXERCISE 1

Say it in Japanese
A co-worker is checking the dates of events. Let him know.
1. It is Friday, the 13th.
2. It is February 14th.
3. It was September 11th, 2000.

4. It was July 4th, but it has been changed to the 5th.
5. It was December 25, but since it is Christmas, it has been delayed one week.
