Louis XII, who succeeded Charles VIII, married Anne
according to an agreement made at the time of her
marriage to Charles.

Claude of Brittany, Anne’s daughter,
was born in 1499 and married François of
Angoulême, the future François I. As king,

Brittany. Their son became François III,
