the Chief’s office to tell him what they’d learned from Tom Hasperand and Lomax informed
the others.

On Asgard a Cleric of the Order walked in on Josiah while he was putting the final
touches to a new Nano delivery unit.

“Mr Lusern: it has come to our attention that the Authorities on Kelgar are enquiring into
your treatment on Rigel 5. It would appear that they are looking for you. The head of the
Order has requested that you make your departure as you planned a little earlier. We hope
that we can confound their efforts. The Abbot thanks you for your service here and hopes
that we may interact again some time.” The young Cleric said. Josiah carefully finished what
he was doing and spoke to the Techs.

“That should be it. Try it out on a Mud rat and see. Now where are my wife and Son?” he
asked the Cleric

“They are in the new Hydroponics Unit overseeing the final equipment install. Morgana’s
“Brew” is going to help fund our activities almost indefinitely and all legally too. Shall I let
them know about the situation?” he asked

“No; I’ll tell them, and I’ll need a secure link to the Dark-Net, I need to prepare my “corpse””
and he chuckled as he left to meet with Marco and Morgana. He would send a signal that
would trigger the demise of his proxy remotely and it would be untraceable. The requisite
information would be “leaked” over the “Grape Vine”. That should leave them free to finally
disappear, their new ID’s in place and to a new life.

In Force HQ word had reached Dispatch about another corpse found in the Hedebar
Province that arrived on a freighter from Thoth. Forensics had DNA and other trace
evidence pointing to it being Marco Lydissian. He’d been dehumed by unknown assassins.
Frustrating as this was the team continued to trace their last and only suspect. They could
not know at that point that he’d already arranged his demise and would thwart them in
their efforts. Dreck was in the Crime Lab when word came of the discovery of a decayed
body in a Hotel suite on Jedburgh. Evidence was being shipped to the lab and would arrive
in stasis.

“Damn! I really thought we finally had a handle on this investigation Doc. Have you had any
luck with Marco’s body?” he asked. Mary Harrigan was just viewing the spectral analysis of
metal traces from the slash wounds on the body.

“Tri Cobalt Steel; sounds like Assassins Foundation standard issue blade. Whoever they were
knew how to make the poor sod suffer before they expired. Not quite
the same pattern as Whelks’ wounds, but close enough. Could be the

same killer, but this was done in a hurry. Look at the wound pattern here…” she pointed to
an area on the body just above the fourth rib on the right side “These strokes were done
fast, to terminate the suffering, as if the killer had a conscience. Unlikely I know, maybe the
Assassin was disturbed.” She concluded

“Thanks anyway Doc, but I doubt it would be The Vasilly Triplets, their handiwork turned up
in the Unity sector a couple of weeks back, two lovers brutally sliced. I’ll get these results to
Lomax. And as soon as you get those materials from Jedburgh do a quick analysis and feed
