“Actually I’m here on an official basis; Jason is helping the Force out with our investigations.
We need to ask you about a young playboy type that used to frequent this place, came in
from Terra Prime every so often went by the name of Stephen Westerton, ring a bell?”
Lomax asked
“Oh my, now you’re going back. Ah; tall chap with blonde hair and a smile a gal could die
for. Spent money like water and tipped well. You sure you don’t want some company Jason?
That Stephen always asked for one girl, Heather, you remember her Lomax ended up
marrying a Guardsman. Last time he was here was oh… all of ten years ago. I did hear he
ended up dead when his Gene treatments backfired. Pity he was a good customer.” She
added. Jason remembered now how smitten he’d been with one of the girls back then and
blushed at Dorrie’s suggestion
“I’m a widower now Dorrie; I’m busy just getting along with my life. Thanks for the offer
though. How’s your Norman doing? Jason asked
“He’s at Thule Academy now, doing his second doctorate.” And she grabbed him and
hugged him again. Lomax smirked and they made their excuses and left. On the way back to
HQ Jason was quiet; Lomax started a conversation but was interrupted by a call on the car’s
comms
“All units in the vicinity; vehicle accident on Main and Sixth, any vehicle in the
area capable of traffic control please respond. Emergency services enroute;
Four vehicles involved, message repeats…” Lomax responded that they and
another Mobile unit were closest and would engage. He passed word on to
Krank and the others about what they’d found out and headed to the scene.
On board the Buraxin Freighter Marco and his pet was the talk of the crew, who in
this case were mostly female. Jason and the Captain were discussing landing arrangements
on a moon near to their destination. Morgana had found a fellow “Herbalist” on board, a
Genovan Male called Hesper. He had some interesting sources of spices, including a one
that caused an increase in body metabolism.
“I sell a mild mix to my female clients who need to shed some excess weight. It has to be
mild as it has a compound that’s addictive. I don’t want to lose any customers to excessive
weight loss” He laughed. She gave him a sample of the Brew and told him how to acquire
more from the Asgard Protectorate. He winked at her and asked for a few more details. “I
know some older customers who would pay handsomely for a “Fountain of Youth”” and
they both laughed. All seemed to be going well for them. One of the crew had a young boy
with her; about six or seven, he seemed to take well to Marco, though he was unsure about
Darius, until that is Darius made the first move. The boy was small for his age and Marco
lifted him up and sat him on the Sand Devils, broad shoulders. Darius seemed to instinctively
know what to do and marched around the ship with the boy giggling upon his back. The
boy’s mother took an interest in Marco; a gesture not unnoticed by Morgana, Marco could
do worse she thought. The journey went quickly and they departed in time to make the
connecting flight to their new home; Marco taking the details of the young woman for
future contact. He was obviously smitten and Morgana and Jason were relieved that he
looked like leaving all trace of his “Boys Cartel” habits behind him.
