The two Detectives pulled up in front of Jupiter Vistas and went through the door
procedure asking to be let in to 79. The door opened but the Guardsman signalled them
over.

“He’s in the Infirmary at the present sirs. Down the corridor to the right of the stairs in
through the double doors at the end” he said pointing the way. “He’s having Physio after his
recent mobility surgery.” He added as the two of them headed down the corridor. Tom
Hasperand; The Song Bird of Korva was in the hydro therapy pool. He seemed pleased to see
Krank. He signalled the male nurse to help him out and joined them at a table on the pool
side, lying on a reclining day bed.

“I would hazard a guess that this is in relation to the incidents I heard about from Carlo. He
sends his regards by the way and hopes to be back in service when he gets back from his
honeymoon. Now; there’s a rumour on the “Grape Vine” that Marco Lydissian has met an
untimely end on the glaciers of Thoth. You’ve been asking about Buraxin trader ships going
out to the Trust Rim worlds. I got in contact with one of my old buddies who captains one,
he remembers the freighter exploding with the loss of all crew. Field generator failed as it
entered Hyperspace. Am I right so far?” Tom said, surprising Krank.

“OK; now do you know of a Josiah Lusern; if he’s alive or any news that might help?” Lomax
asked. The Song Bird looked like he was having difficulty recalling events then smiled.

“That line of the family had a lot of troubles back then. I do remember the mother though, a
showgirl in the Casino’s on Velgas 3. Millicent DuVerre I almost married her, but Mansard
Lusern got to her first. He used to do weapons runs to and from our sector. I believe your
old superior nearly caught him in the act eh Krank” Tom laughed and started to cough and
splutter the nurse brought him a breather mask.

“Yes I remember, she was a looker, still is, why do Delevans have to keep their looks so long
and the rest of us show it?” Krank replied adding “We can’t find any records to there being a
son, and we lost a lot in the fire” He replied

“I recall that they never registered the birth as they divorced soon after. She took him to a
Medical facility run by The Order. They did some Gene therapy to correct a genetic flaw;
never heard anything until she turned back up six years later. She didn’t have the boy in
tow, so everyone assumed the therapy had failed. I heard she remarried a Casino owner…”
Tom continued but Lomax interrupted

“Cordeaux; I should have guessed. You don’t know the name of that facility by any chance
Tom?”

“The Fildar Gemstar Clinic on Rigel 5, but that place closed down a decade or so, I don’t
know who has the records now. Hope I’ve helped you to. Now I have to go to see the Psycho
for my regular “assessment”, just love messing with her” Tom chuckled and coughed again.
The two Detectives left and Krank drove them back to HQ. Lomax was the first to speak

“The Chief’s Nephew might be able to find the Clinic records, but at least we know that
there was a Josiah Lusern. His birth not being registered, well not here anyway, so he may
well have survived. But he must have been fostered out if Millicent came back without him.
That might be why we couldn’t trace him” he said as they arrived back at HQ. Krank went to
