ooking for something to do? Someone to hang
with? Somewhere to go? Get involved in a
student organization. Some of the most active
students on campus join a club and find even
more things to keep them busy. Most join a club
because it is an extension of their classroom
studies; some however, became part of a group
out of interest in the different activities the club
sponsors.
The College Republicans were among the
busiest group of young people in the fall
semester. They helped run a successful campaign
for Congressman Michael Bilirakis, the
conservative incumbent for the House of
Representatives, ninth district. They also
sponsored a rally for Mr. Bill Grant, the
republican senatorial candidate. In the Spring,
Dr. David D. Moore took a very excited group
to Washington DC.
The Science Club is always departing on a field
trip. They have gone on fossil digs, scuba-diving
excursions, and camping trips. Each year the
club sponsors scuba lessons which are always
well-attended.
Whether you want to expand the learning
process outside the classroom or just broaden
your horizons, there is a student organization for
you. Stretch the mind (and perhaps a few
muscles). Join the fun!
