DARRELL STUART ROSS
164 Deerfield Road, Cranston, R.I.
LORM III: Tennis, Basketball, Manager of Baseball, Chess Club, Exec
utive Committee of Lrench Club. >-
LORM IV: Track, Manager of Baseball, Chess Club, Lrench Club,
Junior Alliance, Quaker.
LORM V: Soccer, Winter Track, Spring Track, Junior Alliance, Sec
retary of Chess Club, Lrench Club, Delphian, Quaker.
LORM VI: Letter in Soccer, Winter Track, Spring Track, Lrench
Club, Junior Alliance, Associate Editor of Delphian, Associate Ed
itor of Mosaic, Copy Editor of Quaker, President of Chess Club,
Oceanography Club, "Young Rhode Island” columnist, Representa
tive to Rhode Island Model Legislature.
Darrell, the stud of Moses Brown’s
wonderhorses, is as reliable as the best IBM
computer, as personable as Mr. Herman
(whom he beat in chess, much to the dis
couragement of his 96), as generous as
Charlie Temkin, and as comic as Jim Bul-
man. Although he can answer questions
readily from his store of "common knowl
edge,” Da is amazingly versatile. He runs, sur
prisingly, for the track team and is Copy
Editor for the Quaker, a big job considering
the number of changes that have to be made
with the passing months. He is fair at chess,
better at chests, and the regional secretary
of a Baptist organization which has periodic
orgies up in Massachusetts. Is that why you
worked for Hiram Walker’s last summer!
For a boy who claims that one of his chief
goals in life is a stocky bank roll, Darrell
has shown a genuine enthusiasm for his
friends (especially short ones). Right, Gail,
Sally, Sue . . .? But although modest Darrell
fears that only fat-haters will get into Har
vard, we have good reason to believe that
Harvard will take him anyway.

Mike Rotelli is living proof of Mr. Raines’
theory that power tends to corrupt. Mike
has been a class officer for the last three
years. Popularity is only one phase of his
many faceted personality. Athletics are
Mike’s forte, for he was an all-state foot
ball co-captain and a high-flying pole vaulter
for Doc; however, Mike avidly denies that
he is a dumb athlete. He likes to be thought
of by Whit and the faculty as a clean-cut
boy with no vices; yet we who saw Mike
in action at Brown U. on a number of week
ends know better. And how about those
runs to Ralphs' between the high jump and
hurdles last winter! When Mike leaves
Moses Brown at the wheel of his Stingray,
he will be heading off to a profitable candy
bar and pizza business; but whatever his
destination, Mike will get there fast.
