Typing at his computer, Mr. Brian
Trainer prepares his syllabus for Old
Testament Survey. As an associate pro
fessor of Bible and dean of men, Mr.
Trainer hoped to bring new inspiration
to the spiritual life of students.
Colossians 1:27-29 were the theme
verses he chose for the year. When he
began his leadership position, he set
three goals for the students: "personal
growth in Christ-likeness, development
of a Biblical world view, and leadership
through serving others." With these
goals in mind, Mr. Trainer worked with
the student leaders in developing a dis-
cipleship emphasis in the residence
halls, lie brought the following experi
ence to his position: church planting,
teaching overseas, college and career
discipleship, and most recently, pastor
of missions and ministries at Colonial
Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Vir
ginia. Having earned his M.Div. from
Central Baptist Theological Seminary,
he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Min
istry from Trinity Evangelical Theologi
cal Seminary in Deerfield, Illinois. The
college family is thankful the Lord has
brought him and his wife to CCC. Vol
unteering many hours, his wife Sherry
has been an asset to the ministry.
Waiting until the last minute to
enter their Greek class, Tom
Yu, Steven Kirkland, Paul
Daley, Juan Finlay, and Josh
Waite discuss the Bible in its
original language. As third-
year Greek students, they re
ceived an in-depth look into
many of the New Testament
books of the Bible.

how much we love Him, and it
is a command from God.”
