LOOKING FORWARD
TO CAREER
The business department consisted of four full-time and four
part-time professors teaching classes that range from Account
ing 1 to Business Law to Advanced Information Systems. It
offered four different majors. Students that graduate with a
business degree can look for jobs in fields such as account
ing, sales, marketing, finance, and computers.
Mrs. Patricia Youstra was the only woman in the busi
ness faculty and was in charge of the Administrative Office
Management and Secretarial Science majors. When asked
why she chose to be a Christian educator, she responded, “
God called me to teach more than subject matter. This gives
me a chance to change lives. The object of the department
is to send students into the business world to represent Christ
with integrity and excellent work ethics.” The Administra
tive Office Management seniors had a 13 to 14 weeks in
ternship, working forty-hours each week at local businesses.
The computer lab was turned into a “smart room” which
allowed teachers to use power point in the classroom.
Zach Barlowe, a senior business major and president of
the business club, said, “The business faculty has not only

look bright.
